Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before purchasing or using the SQL Security Sandbox ("Product") made available by Cosmic Innovators Collective LLC ("CIC," "we," "us," or "our"). By purchasing or using the Product, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About the Product

SQL Security Sandbox is a self-paced, browser-based cybersecurity training course focused on SQL for security operations. The Product includes:

• 7 training modules (35 lessons, 142 hands-on exercises)
• A SQLite/WASM-powered in-browser execution engine (no installation required)
• PDF Lab Reports generated per lesson
• A SHA-256 Completion Certificate upon finishing all modules
• Framework alignment documentation (NIST CSF 2.0, MITRE ATT&CK, PCI-DSS v4.0, SOC 2, OWASP Top 10, DCWF/NICE)
• Lifetime access to the version purchased (see Section 4)

2. Eligibility and Account

You must be at least 13 years of age to purchase or use the Product. By purchasing, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. Purchases are processed through Gumroad; you must comply with Gumroad's Terms of Service in addition to these Terms.

3. License

This license does not permit you to:

• Share, resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Product or any of its content
• Use the Product for commercial training delivery to third parties without a written agreement with CIC
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Product's source code or exercise content for redistribution
• Use the Product's content (exercises, lab scenarios, documentation) to create competing products
• Remove or alter any copyright notices, watermarks, or attribution within the Product

4. Access and Updates

Access to the Product is provided through Gumroad. You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address used at purchase. CIC will make commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Product available, but does not guarantee uninterrupted access.

Version access: Your purchase grants lifetime access to the major version of the Product available at the time of purchase (v1.x). CIC may release future major versions (v2.x, etc.) at a separate price. Minor updates, bug fixes, and content corrections within the same major version are included at no additional charge.

5. Refund Policy

• Refund requests must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the original purchase date.
• Refunds are processed through Gumroad and may take 5–10 business days to appear.
• After a refund is issued, your access to the Product will be revoked.
• Government and bulk purchases may be subject to separate refund terms specified in the applicable order or agreement.

6. Acceptable Use

The SQL Security Sandbox is designed for defensive security education — understanding how attacks work in order to better defend against them. You agree to use the Product solely for lawful educational purposes. You agree NOT to:

• Use techniques or knowledge from this Product to conduct unauthorized attacks against any systems, networks, or databases you do not own or have explicit written permission to test
• Use the Product for any purpose that violates applicable law, including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), the EU NIS2 Directive, or equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction
• Attempt to exploit the in-browser SQLite/WASM environment to access systems outside the sandbox

CIC is committed to responsible security education. If you discover a security vulnerability in the Product itself, please report it responsibly to security@cosmicsoc.io.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, exercises, scenarios, documentation, code, and materials within the SQL Security Sandbox are the intellectual property of Cosmic Innovators Collective LLC or its licensors, protected by United States and international copyright law. The "Contoso Corporation" scenario and all fictional company data used in exercises are entirely fictional and created by CIC for educational purposes.

The CIC Orbital Mark, wordmark "Cosmic Innovators Collective," and "SQL Security Sandbox" are trademarks of Cosmic Innovators Collective LLC.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PRODUCT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. CIC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PRODUCT WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

The Product is for educational purposes only. Completion of the Product does not guarantee employment, certification, or any specific professional outcome. Framework mappings (NIST, MITRE, PCI-DSS, etc.) are provided for educational reference and do not constitute compliance advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CIC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF CIC HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

CIC's total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Product in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Government and Veteran Purchases

Cosmic Innovators Collective LLC is a veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB-eligible; SBA VetCert application in progress). Government purchase inquiries, including potential GSA schedule or SAM.gov transactions, should be directed to gov@cosmicsoc.io. Specific government contract terms may supersede these Terms where applicable.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Dallas County, Texas, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

12. Changes to These Terms

CIC reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to customers via email at least 14 days before the effective date. Continued use of the Product after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of those Terms.
